Must Have Pumpkin Skincare
Pumpkin On The Brain
So, it's October and the pumpkin obsession has officially kicked in. Today, I went to Trader Joe's with my dad and bought pumpkin oatmeal, baby pumpkins, pumpkin bread mix, pumpkin pasta sauce, and pumpkin bark. My dad told me I may be an addict. When I got home, I carved the baby pumpkins and made roasted pumpkin seeds. Yum.
So, I had pumpkin on the brain and as I was scraping out pumpkin guts from the baby pumpkins it occurred to me that the skin on my hands was getting a spa treatment from the pumpkin. Then, it occurred to me that I had been using a new serum for a few weeks with pumpkin enzymes in it. And then I got a real idea - To research pumpkin benefits, specifically skincare benefits.
Well, there are a lot! Pumpkin is kind of magical, and our skin loves it.
Pumpkin Magic
We know that fermented pumpkin consists of a lot of alpha hydroxy acids and antioxidants. In case you didn't know, these are really good for your skin. In combination, they work to brighten, smooth and boost collagen production. The products I've included in this blog post have fermented pumpkin in them!
It is also known that the molecular structure of pumpkin is relatively small and thus has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin when applied topically. For this reason, it can help to treat dull complexions and pigmentation! Sounds good to me.
Note: I cannot personally recommend any of these products aside from C-Firma Day Serum by Drunk Elephant, because I don't own any of the other ones. However, I did read all of the ingredients of each product and they seem really good - I will definitely be ordering some! What ones would you want to try?!
