Alexandra Bartscht - LipSense Independent Distributor

Alexandra is a wife, mother, LipSense independent distributor, AND infant/child sleep consultant (both of these jobs she runs as personal small businesses)! I am so blessed that she took the time to do an interview with me! She is definitely someone any of us could learn from. Read on for the full interview and pictures!

Note: For the purpose of this interview, I focused on Alexandra's LipSense small business. I will likely interview her again in the future to learn more about her new and exciting infant/child sleep consultant business!

What is LipSense?

Oh you guys, its amazingness in a tube. LipSense Liquid Lip Color is unlike any conventional lipstick, stain or color and it will stay on for UP TO 18 HOURS. It is waterproof, does not kiss-off, smear-off, rub-off or budge until you choose to take it off. The most important part is it’s made with all natural ingredients and is led free and wax free, unlike other lipsticks.

This product is perfect for weddings, work, date nights, you name it. Apply your color once in the morning and leave it at home. One tube of LipSense will last you 5 times as long as a normal lipstick. With over 70 colors you can be sure to find the perfect shade for you (I can help with that!)

Why did you choose to sell LipSense?

I started selling LipSense after I tried it out for myself and fell in love with the product. I honestly thought to myself… I’ve got to share this with everyone that doesn’t know about it! The product sells itself.

After I started selling LipSense I realized it could really be profitable. It paid for my sleep certification and is helping me get my sleep consulting business up and running!

Why should someone else want to join LipSense?

Oh gosh, the deals alone are reason enough to become a distributor. We receive a 30 to 50% discount on all items. I won’t tell you how many colors I own!

Honestly, if you’re a stay at home mom and want to help support your family and put food on the table, this is one enjoyable and profitable way to do it.

Perhaps you have a full time job but need a way to make some extra cash to support yourself or our family, this is great for that as well.

*I hope I’ve convinced you to give LipSense a try! You won’t regret it. You can follow my Facebook page for more info or to see colors @ForeverlyLovely

What do you like and dislike about being a business woman?

Only likes here!

After my daughter Everly Rose was born, I felt very strongly about being home with her and decided to leave my full time career as a Kindergarten teacher.

I have since started two new jobs, selling LipSense as an Independent Distributor, as well as starting my own business and working with families as an Infant/Child Sleep Consultant.

I feel so lucky that I am able to make my own hours, staying home with my daughter but also being challenged and using my brain in a work environment.

How do you balance being a new mom and running your own small business?

It’s all about balance! As a stay at home mamma it does get tricky to devote the time needed to run a business (or two!) I put in a lot of late hours and do as much as I can during naptime or after I put my little one to bed. It might seem like a lot but if you love what you do, you find the time to make it all work.

What are a few of your favorite things?

Well... I as you know, I love LipSense! I have to be honest with you though, I’m really not a big makeup girl. However, there’s something about this product that makes me feel put together. Even when my hairs in a messy bun, I have yoga pants on and I’m out running mommy errands, I still feel presentable when I’m wearing my LipSense. I say If something makes you feel beautiful and confident why wouldn’t you do it?!

I am a big foodie. My husband and I love to explore new restaurants for date night. When we aren’t out, I cook pescatarian for all of us at home. I think we have shared our love for food with our little one. I have yet to find any food she doesn’t like.

You know what else I love…sleep! Sleep is extremely important for both children and adults. Many parents I know believe they will never sleep again once they have children, and that this is a natural and normal part of being a parent. Sleep deprivation is certainly not good for your child but it is also not good for adults as it affects daily life including the ability to parent (and it’s definitely not a requirement to becoming a parent!). Solid sleep patterns are absolutely necessary for the physical and mental health of both children and their parents. As a sleep consultant, I work with parents to help them learn the tools and techniques needed to promote sleep in their household. My goal is to spread awareness about the importance of sleep, the fact that sleep is achievable, and that it is part of a healthy lifestyle for the entire family.

What advice would you give to young women about starting their own businesses, having fulfilling relationships, and being a new/young mom?

I hear so many people talk about how much they would love to start their own business someday, but then when it actually comes down to it they don’t follow through. If you are lucky enough to find something you are passionate about and have the desire to turn it into a career, then DO IT! It will definitely be a lot of work but if you love what you do you can hardly call it work!

As you get older, you realize the importance of relationships. It’s simple really…surround yourself with people who love you, motivate you and encourage you .

Advice for the new mommies….Don’t blink. They grow REALLY fast.
